Čini se da je posljednji paragraf teksta uvijek najteži, ponajviše zbog objedinjavanja stvari i stavljanja poante. Vjerojatno je tako i s filmovima i serijama koji često u srži imaju nit koja ih vodi, a onda se, kako idu prema kraju, mogu rasplinuti kao, na primjer, posljednja sezona Igre prijestolja. Star Wars, ili po hrvatskom Ratovi zvijezda, legendarna su saga ponajprije o Anakinu Skywalkeru, njegovom odrastanju, smrti, uskrsnuću. Jedajima, sili, Imperiju, obitelji, prijateljima. Odnos i borba dobra i zla u svemirskim prostranstvima prikazana je u devet, nazovimo ih kanonskih filmova, animiranim i igranim serijama i spin-off uprizorenjima ( Rogue One i Solo: A Star Wars Story. Tu je još velik broj književnih predložaka, stripova, audio romana, računalnih igara, multimedijalnih projekata i tko zna čega. Utisak koji su Ratovi zvijezda napravili na generacije gledatelja i filmofila je nemjerljiv, a ono što je George Lucas započeo s idejom o svemirskoj fantasy-operi davne 1971. dovedeno je na kraj putovanja, ako je vjerovati na riječ svemoćnom Disneyju, prije desetak dana. Ako se u kontekst uzme to četrdesetdvogodišnje putovanje između epizode V i epizode IX, dobiva se čista sociološka računica. Analiza i razvoj društva, koji počivaju u svakoj sociološkoj raspravi, učinili su svoje i Ratovima zvijezda. Ostavština Ratova zvijezda Refleksija Hollywooda kraja sedamdesetih i početka osamdesetih vidljiva je u originalnoj trilogiji. Na prelazu stoljeća i tisućljeća vidjeli smo što autor i redatelj mogu ponuditi s većim budžetom i novim tehnologijama, a u drugom desetljeću 21. stoljeća saznali smo da će nove generacije završiti sagu i dati joj svoj ‘svježi oblik. Originalna, prequel i konačno sequel trilogija pobudile su u zasebnim generacijama većinom pozitivne dojmove, vrhunske filmske momente i neraskidivu vezu sa Star Wars svemirom. Jeffrey Jacob Abrams imao je samo jedanaest godina kada je Nova nada (1977) poharala kinodvorane. J. Abrams je s Lawrenceom Kasdanom, scenaristom filmova iz originalne trilogije, napisao scenarij za Sila se budi (2015) te se uzdao u sebe pisanjem Uspona Skywalkera, posljednje epizode koja je startala 20. prosinca na velikim platnima diljem svijeta. Posljednja nada u… Posljednji Jedi, smjestio se između dva Abramsova naslova te završio u rukama Riana Johnsona, a na njegovom se uratku i prelomila finalna trilogija. Dok je sedma epizoda još imala duh svemirskih ratova, motive i teme koje bi mogle zaintrigirati i povezati djeliće s prethodnih trilogija, u Posljednjem Jediju to je odbačeno kroz postupke likova, smjer radnje, nerazumna objašnjenja i, recimo to tako, kontekst vremena i zahtjeve filmskog studija. Ratovi zvijezda postali su dio univerzuma koji je ekvivalent onome Marvelovom, a kako je cijelo proteklo desetljeće u blještavom Hollywoodu obilježeno superherojima, i SW je uskočio u taj vlak te poremetio balans u vlastitoj sili. Dobili smo dva filma koji se mogu gledati zasebno, dobili smo nezanimljive likove i što je najgore, dobili smo generički proizvod koji se gleda samo zbog naziva, a ne zbog sadržaja. Obitelj Skywalker, predvođena Anakinom pa zatim i Lukeom, postala je svojevrsni arhetip, naslijeđe u koje možeš poleći i prvu i posljednju nadu u stvaranju priče. Uspon Skywalkera, posljednja, deveta epizoda u nešto više od dva sata trajanja, očarava akcijom, efektima, ponekom glumačkom izvedbom ( Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley) i kraćim scenama koji sadrže žar zvjezdanih bitaka nad planetima poznatih i nepoznatih imena. Ep. IX U Usponu Skywalkera ponajviše fali svrhovitog dijaloga koji traje duže od jedne minute, a njemu se suprotstavljaju bezumne akcijske sekvence, uništavanja, jurnjave i mahanja svjetlećom sabljom koja u prvih pola sata biva iskorištena više nego u cijeloj epizodi VIII. Valja istaknuti kako su puno kreativnija koreografska rješenja u borbama lightsaberima viđena u prequel trilogiji. Vraćanjem i postavljanjem Palpatinea ( Ian McDiarmid) ultimativnog negativca SW sage, u centar zla ove epizode čini se kao ad hoc rješenje izmišljeno neposredno pred snimanje Uspona kako bi se završilo s onime od koga je inicijalno sve počelo. Disneyju, odnosno sequel trilogiji, trebao je moćni antagonist, jer nakon što Kylo Ren to nije mogao biti zbog obiteljskog naslijeđa i iskupljenja, a Snoke se pokazao jednokratnom karikaturom iskorištenom po načelu ‘ubij ovog, ubij onog, Darth Sidious je jedni mogao steći strahopoštovanje kod svih obožavatelja. Puno je tu segmenata na koje je Abrams još morao paziti kako bi udovoljio sebi, studiju i na kraju uvijek kritičnom fandomeu. I to je pretpostavka od koje se sve ruši. Lucas nije radio (tolike) kompromise nauštrb radnje, glavnih i sporednih likova te u hodu mijenjao specifičnosti postavljene originalom. Oslanjanje isključivo na akcijske sekvence Dinamika filma gotovo da ne postoji, točnije, film je bez određenih zakonitosti u kojem postoji fiksiranje radnje na bitne i manje bitne aspekte – jednostavno, bitno je sve i Abrams je to želio tako prikazati. Red Bull kao da je bio jedan od glavnih sponzora pa su one-lineri najčešće na čemu će počivati iole ozbiljan ‘razgovor. Eksponencijalni rast brzine radnje, natrpanost likovima i snalaženje tko-što-kome nudi, daje, preuzima i zašto je potrebno doći na određenu lokaciju postaje zamorno nakon trećeg putovanja hyperspace pogonom u par sekundi. Kada bi pomislili da drugo gledanje filma pruža uvid u neke detalje koji su promaknuli u ubrzanom prvom, našli bi se u zabludi. Nažalost, naišli bi na još više nelogičnosti i maskiranja stvari da sve ispadne dobro, ako zbog ničeg drugog, onda zbog jedne od najmasovnijih svemirskih borbi viđenih u filmskoj povijesti. Za Abramsa Posljednji Jedi ne postoji, što je pokazao u uvodnim minutama dajući novi pogled i preskačući godinu dana od radnje osme epizode. Isto tako, redatelj je, da izbjegnem spoilere, pribjegao i novom čitanju sile i mogućnosti prenošenja materije kroz prostor. Sila je postala deus ex machina, a umjesto motiva antike, Ratovi zvijezda vode se postulatima ‘superherojske industrije prisutne posljednjih nekoliko godina. Od epa do utapanja u prosječnosti Svojevrsna ‘zvijezda smrti za posljednju epizodu je i politička korektnost ispod koje se krije i financijska isplativost filma na tržištima izvan SAD-a. Ono za što nije postojala ni trunka sumnje u cijeloj sagi, sada nam se baca pred oči, kao da nakon osam filmova toga nismo svjesni. Multikulturalnost je jednako bitno obilježje koje je pratilo Ratove zvijezda od epizode IV. Milijuni planeta, rasa, spolova kao obični stanovnici ili pak pobunjenici ujedinjeni protiv zlog Carstva koje želi zavladati svemirom kao pandan nacistima, svedeni su na irelevantne replike i dobiven screen-time. Autor glazbe John Williams u svom je posljednjem (toliko je toga posljednjeg) okršaju sa svemirskim silama kliknuo refresh. Kompozitor je dao cijelog sebe u projekt dug četrdeset godina, ali teško da je mogao izmisliti više od ‘varijacije na temu. Uostalom, više nije bilo ni potrebno. Epizoda IX postigla je odličan rezultat na kino blagajnama i usprkos kritikama fanova serijala donijela još jedan vrlo dobar film u sklopu drage nam soap opere koju pratim(o) već više od četrdeset godina. Dok sam bez daha pratio kraj posljednjega u nizu iz serijala “Star Wars” sjetio sam se besmrtne priče iz davnine Ivane Brlić Mažuranić “Šuma Striborova” i tako žive poruke koju nam je odaslala baka na kraju pripovijetke. Kako joj je draža njezina nevolja (ali da ima sina) nego sva blaga toga čarobnoga svijeta koji joj je ponuđen, uključujući i njenu mladost. Plakao sam i još i sad plačem kad se toga sjetim. Te dobrote; dobra koje pobjeđuje zlo na Zemlji. Ali, tako je i u Svemiru. U dalekim prostranstvima beskrajnima vrijede ista pravila. Istina je istina, laž je laž, ljubav je ljubav, a dobro pobjeđuje zlo. I vazda i u vijeke vjekova (skoro sam rekao – Amen. Malčice je to ispremiješano u posljednjem iskušenju skywalkerice (kod Ivane je baka bila dobra, a ovdje je dida zao) no principi i poruke, kako rekoh, ostaju jasne kao dan. Michaela Baya, odmah me uhvati nervoza) i prema Disneyu (bilo je ciničnih zahvala što je kompanija „uništila“ serijal) i prema priči i obratima, ali mislim da su prigovaranja pretjerana. Kriteriji (aršini) moraju biti isti ili barem slični kad govorimo o onome što je započeo sâm Lucas (i nastavio više ili manje uspješno) i onome što su, držeći se nekih osnovnih kanona ili pravila, uradili nastavljači. I prethodni, a pogotovo ovaj nastavak puno su mi bolji od pojedinih, a ovo govorim kao dugogodišnji pratitelj i gledatelj, ali ne i fan. Novi likovi koji su u međuvremenu zacementirali svoj status i profilirali se u ovom ili onom smjeru velik su dobitak, a o izvedbenoj komponenti da ne govorim. I sve je to, rekao bih, u službi njenog veličanstva – priče. Adam Driver i Daisy Ridley na svojim su plećima iznijeli dobar teret ovoga zahtjevnoga zadatka, a to ne bi mogli da, na svoj način, ne vjeruju u Ratove. U tome im pomaže jedan od najboljih glumaca današnjice Oscar Isaacs (u ulozi Poea) ali i Domhall Gleeson (dobro ga se sjećam iz filmova “Brooklyn” i “The Revenant”) a zvjezdanu postavu čine i Lupita Nyongo i Keri Russel (oduševljen sam njome u seriji “The Americans”. Pridodamo li tome pojavljivanje Carrie Fisher i Marka Hamilla, te meni najdražega lika, neprežaljenoga Hana Sola (Harrison Ford) mali i veliki imaju razloga za veselje. Ono dječačko ili djevojačko, avanturističko (iskreno djetinje) i iskreno odraslo uživanje u dramatskom i referentnom s nizom lijepih poruka koje imaju mjeru. Upravo mjera ili nedostatak iste nekad me znao odvratiti od žanra znanstvene fantastike, pogotovo u godinama ili radovima koji su na silu gurali new age filozofiju ili neke druge kvaziuzvišene poruke. Ne zaboravimo niti robote (kako smo ih nekad zvali) ili androide, one starije (C3P0 ili R2D2) koji sve ove godine zadržavaju visoku razinu šarma ili BB8 (u manjoj mjeri, više popunjavajućoj i lajtmotivskoj. Babu Frik je biće koje me je, među inim fantastičnim, također nasmijalo. Sigurno je da su efekti dosegli svemirske visine, ali opet je to podređeno samoj priči. Ona, pak, nema praznoga hoda, a tempo je konstantan. Ne možda stalno furiozan, ali u nekoj, rekli bismo, četvrtoj, petoj brzini. Želio bih, za kraj ove kalendarske i filmske godine da Sila uvijek bude s vama (nama) i da na silu ne gledamo neke radove koje nam guraju PR magovi (za što su, naravno, i dobro plaćeni. Stavite ruku na srce i imajte vlastito mišljenje o filmskom (lijepom) svijetu i ne dopustite da vam pogled zamagle tehnikalije i tehnološki napredak koji je, inače, dobrodošao.
